Recent finds

Here are a few pics of my finds from the past couple of weeks. I can't wait to get back out in that field again! There is a birdpoint in the pics that is two-toned (black and red). It is pretty cool how the indian knapped it out that way - whether on purpose or by accident. I also found a decent adze and a good hand-axe. There is also a blade (4th pic) that has a hafting notch at the top but not on the bottom. This is not broken, it was made that way and ground down a little to prevent accidental cutting of the hafting material. There is also a willow-leaf blade that is made of Boyle Chert (2nd pic). Very pretty colors. You never know what will come out of that field!

Thanks Fossis! My wife said that she could tell how good I did by looking at the big grin on my face when I came walking in the door. She had to listen to me babble about it for about half an hour.

wow thats some sweet finds. i think im going out again tomm. whenever i find a nice blade, i cant sleep at night thinking what else is out there,lol.
then i go and find nothing then all i can think about is what did i miss,lol

Thanks Badandy! They were so resourceful. Modern man could probably learn a lot from them. I'm hoping to walk that field again this weekend. There are a couple of sections that I couldn't get to last time.

Thanks Steven! I'm definitely going to walk this field several times this year. I'm sure that I have missed a lot of them.
