These items were recovered in Ohio near the Tuscarawas river. I have a shoe buckle tine, King George II half penny, trade silver, and a folding knife minus the blade. Hopefully, more to come before the season ends. I have been searching for about a year in the same general area before I came across these. Persistence pays off.
I have been using electrolysis on the knife, but have stopped for fear of completely destroying it. There is still a lot of rust on it. Especially on the opposite side and in where the blade would fold. Any suggestions on how to proceed on cleaning it or at least how to preserve it as is?
