I havent really been out digging that much lately because of terrible ground conditions and lack of time. Here are a few recent goodies IMG_0981.webpa very roached 1881 Indian

Mercury dime, war nickle, and some marbles

A really cool tag of some sort. I thought it was a token or dog license when i first dug it up, but all i know it's tax related

Interesting pin made of brass showing 2 people either fighting or dancing

Nice finds! Hope you have more time to get out there! Cheers!

Cool finds, I think they are boxing.................HH

Nice Digs John!! You have had horrible digging conditions there. WTG, Quindy.

I havent been able to get out as much this year because of work. To make matters worse, the ground has been rock hard from the drought conditions. My best finds recently have been from street and house tear downs with looser dirt

Same here man.. I love house tear downs. Just as long as you know your md.. If the house is real old you get the copper roof nails that hit as pennies. Lol. Nice finds man

I'm pretty good on those tear down lots. Because of the ground being disturbed, i've noticed the VDI numbers on my MXT are slightly skewed..........which means i pretty much dig anything that isnt iron................because i have pulled out goodies that read as pulltabs. Oh yeah, i did find my share of those old roofing nails that sound good

that pin or cufflink (or whatever it is) is awesome. really cool find!

john you sure that isnt a dog pet tag? if it is it is the oldest one found in town-which you probally already know. id double check that! nice finds too!

Allen, the 2 holes at the top and bottom leads me to believe it was fastened to something............and not around a collar. Whatever it is, it's tax related and probably the only one i'll ever find. There's a guy i talked to about local tokens a couple of months ago that i need to call and see if he's ever seen a tag like this.

Nice finds John. I havn't been out much lately either. An hour here, an hour there....they don't add up to much more than what you've got there. Havn't even bothered to post my latest finds in a while, they've been so few and far in between. Still thinking on that etrac purchase?
