Recovering deep water bottles

I have a site that have produced some nice bottles finds though its been difficult to recover them. Its a muddy bottom lake, no grass to speak off. Probing would be very time consuming. I remember seeing someone who used a long handled scoop about a foot wide that they recovered lost stuff off fishing piers by dragging the scoop like a hoe. I figured most bottles won't sink in mud so some sort of device that could be dragged behind a boat at slow speed sifting the silt for items. Anyone have an idea what I'm looking for??
