Metal Detecting
Recently moved to Martinsville, Va and connected with a local club. So I dug out my Tesoro Silver and found my first flat button. I'd Lke help IDing and dating it. Any input would be appreciated. Looks like it says "LONDON DOUBLE" with design around the outer edge. Face has nothing on it. I've been working on cleaning it and this is way better then when it came out of the ground

Nice find,

Great hobby to get back into. VA great place to swing a detector.

It's a flat button called a coin type. I'd date that one 1820's 1830's.

Nice flat button and Welcome to TNet and back to metal detecting! :hello:

Nice!!! Congrats!!!

Hey Grifter, I'm next door in Patrick County. I've been detecting for years in this area and didn't know there was a local detecting club. What's the name?

Henry County Diggers. Our Facebook page (click like) is Henry County Diggers 2. We meet once a month and have a virtual meeting usual the first Thursday.

Thanks. That's was about the same I thought.

Nice Flat button. Glad your back in the hobby.

Nice find! It's good that you are getting back into the swing of things. Welcome to Treasurenet!
