Refurbishing

I have an old wooden clock. I want to refurbish it. I have no idea where to start. I would appreciate any help. I am a rookie and this is my first project. The clock doeant work and the wood is trashed.

Not a master clock mechanic expert but, I would love to guide you in the right direction. Is there any type of manufacture's mark/insignia on the clock? If so, I would do all the research that you possibly could on it's background. Investigate if that manufacture is still operating. If not, try and do historical reading on the background of the clock. Please keep us up to speed.

Also please if you could post all the pictures that you could to help the forums give you guidance on where to go next with your refurbishing project.
