This fossil was found in Northern California, in, or around Humboldt County, many years ago by a now deceased friend, so additional location info. is, of course, unavailable.
Yes, it is drilled. I'm not sure if it was drilled by my friend, or it was found that way.
We have many Native tribes in this area, who may have drilled it to wear, or for display in regalia.
I would like to know how old it is. That may answer some questions.
