Hello all, I use a Discovery 3300. The instructions say to use 9vt Alkaline batteries. I can't find an explanation as to why only use alkaline. I'm sure they are stronger and last longer but would it do any harm if I used regular 9vts, non alkaline? Thanks for any help, Dave

With non-alkaline ("heavy duty", etc) the voltage falls off faster and the detector can misbehave. It won't hurt the detector, but it results in calls to the factory that "After only 2 hours my detector got noisy."

Thanks for the info Carl. I'll stick to the Alkaline.
