Hi;
Got a chance to go out and feed the sand gnats and search for history yesterday. Soon as I saw some oyster shell and brick in the turned field knew I might find something. Lots of iron for sure. Was able to dig out a percussion cap, a flat button that did a poor job of avoiding a plow. Two high velocity colonial hollow points (fishing/net weights), a Paris marked buckle, an umbrella top, a brass screw, a lock swing that is either S & Co or SC & Co., a few assorted hoganflagles. Also what I first thought was part of a Jew's harp, but looking at it closer I think it is just a large brass staple that broke when someone was pounding on it. Oh, also a very sweet 1771 George III half penny dug as seen, rinsed with fresh water. The back side is just as good as the front. Nicest George I have ever dug, usually they are so pocket worn they are barley readable, or it's always the other guy to dig a nice one.
Thanks for looking.
