Found a few good relics this weekend. The best was found next to a creek around Ft Knox. It's a brass whistle with chain and hook. No markings on it. Military or police maybe. It's pretty old and cool.
Also found these whatzits. Copper snuff container lid? And the latch clasp with leather still in it. I'm thinking an army 1903 era item pouch of some kind?
No silver coins but got one injun, in the typical corroded shape.

Rouge compact.Nice digs!

Thanks Kuger....I'm lovin the whistle. Wish it was marked. I looked thru some websites and can't find an identical match. The connector part of the whistle is different than others I've seen. The ring usually goes thru the post, but on mine it attaches thru a brazed to the whistle wire.

This brass plate looks like it had a cutout for something and a latch or hinge thing. Anyone care to guess this?

One more of the "latch". Could be something from the 1930's....I was in a place where 1937 flood debris was dumped from a house.
