As a child, my dad and grandfather collected Lincolns from 1909 to 1970. Unfortunately, my dad used a pencil eraser to "clean" the faces and then put some kind of varnish on them. (I know it is painful to think about.) Is there any hope for these coins?
Don't worry, he didn't have the S VBD
I think the coins are in someones attic and I am going to try and find them.
Can I just use varnish remover and then sit them outside for a year to reestablish a "natural" look?
