Appears to me to be a Empire-General Issues Cash (1) Coin 1908. Struck brass. Y#7. Value is probably $1-3.

Yes, you are probably getting your hopes to high. That being said, with the number of newly wealthy people in China, there is a great demand for Chinese art and collectibles. Much of this is being bought up in the western countries and taken back to China. It has driven prices through the roof over the last 10 years or even longer. However, the high grade common coins are getting pretty high prices, but the low grade common coins are still pretty cheap. It might be higher than I stated, even current price guides are often out of date on Chinese coins. It's truly a matter of what you can get.
