Repair White's Coinmaster??

I was given an older whites coinmaster 5000/G.E.B. The batteries were left in it for years,and the battery holder is broken....other than that it seems to be in good condition...is this unit worth repairing...is it still a viable machine....it looks like it could do a lot.I'm using a Fisher F2 now and would like a back up.........Thanks
