This past week I dug a Republic Truck FOB. Turns out its got some local history behind it. After a bit of research I found that Republic Trucks was located in a small town about 15 minutes from where I live. The FOB has lost some of the enamel (and I think I hit it across the "B"
) but I am still pleased to have found something of a local treasure.
A local park has spit out a total of 8 "no cash value" tokens (I suspect more to come). One, for "metropolis", has a NYC scene that includes the WTC.
I struck silver on my way back to the car again. This time the wife called to say she was ready to be picked up. So, I cut across the volley ball courts which were between me and my car. I stopped to investigate a signal and found a bling-bling earring. Acid test as silver.
Thanks for looking!!

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Republic_Motor_Truck_CompanyThe Republic Motor Truck Company was a manufacturer of commercial trucks circa 1913 - 1929, in Alma, Michigan. By 1918, it was recognized as the largest exclusive truck manufacturer in the world, and the maker of one out of every nine trucks on the roads in the United States.
