Those that remember I did a 1 hour hunt on this field before & got a nice Silver RAF Pendant. No Silver today but did pretty good for only 2 hours :o

Got a 1909 wheatie  & a dime & a pewter US thingy all broken up.

Random Roman Iron Nail.

I like the horse rein guide the most but may have to give it up to the owner, being that he's been into horses all his life :icon_thumright:

Farm Shop Field

Dad only had a short hunting window, so after 2 hours on the paddock we went to a nearby farm to show the owner some bits we had found. They we out, so it left us 30 minutes to do a quick hunt on some recently ploughed land.

Only item of note was a Tudor book clasp, but we will be back next week to grid it all.

Re: Return To Horse Paddock - US Finds...

Great assortment of finds. I believe the owner will be tickled to have the horse rein guide, but he may have a bunch and let you keep this one.

 RR

Yeah, I will be interested in his thoughts on age. I can't decide if its 20 years or 120 :dontknow:

Even though most of the coins were not older than 1900, I still really enjoyed it, many may think I'm jaded sometimes but these quick firing multiple hits are only 1 away from something nicer

Dang, you know its a crazy day when you pull up a WHEATIE :laughing9: and dime ;D

Those are some great finds Cru, that Horse Headed Reins Guide is FIRST RATE!!!!! :icon_thumleft: :icon_thumleft:

Man, thats a TON of George the 5ths. I don't know if you recall but a couple of months ago I dug one from 1916...

I'm thinking it probably came from a British officer or soldier who was training with the U.S. Military also...because

this area has a large military presence, both Naval and Army.

I also like that barrel tap and the button, pretty cool :icon_thumleft: :icon_thumleft:

Incredible finds!! CONGRATS!!

Good finds as always :icon_thumleft: those US items must of been one of our fly boys over there during WWII strange seeing you pull up those, i think i dug the same knife a while back man do they stink i think there animal bone handles :laughing9: Good hunt Dd60

It's one of the first times I thought we might hit a US Silver coin. Funny really, I spent 1 hour last time & hit a Silver coin at 9" (plus a nice silver pendant), now I spent 2 hours with Dad & couldn't hit one. Funny game this :icon_thumright:

Footpath & 'Village Well' helped the coin count.

I was hoping for a silver print but this was as good as it got, shows how careful or poor they were

Were the US coins together?
