Return to last evening's site... produces again! AND AGAIN 8/28: Merc!
I came prepared this evening. The ground is very hard but I have a transplant shovel that works great and doesn't tear up the lawns too bad. My SE was on fire with the wheaties tonight, 15 in all, including a 1909 (not the s vdb), 1911 and a 1922D (good date but bad shape). I did electrolysis on them tonight to clean them up just to add to my personal collection. Also found a nice token, another reed (thanks Ohio Jerry), a gold colored whatsit, a headless figurine (could someone identify and/or date this toy?). On the bottom of the figurine it says benells (or senells) England (Very hard to make out the letters for sure). Also a few relics.
Update 8/28...
I had a couple hours this morning so I ran some odd angles through the front yard and picked out 3 more wheats. I also parked my truck in a different spot in the driveway and detected where I parked yesterday. Rewarded with a 1943 Merc. That makes a total of 20 wheats out of this yard and I should get more after we get some moisture in the ground.
