I got back yesterday for a 6 hour hunt to the same farm I hunted last Sunday. This time I detected the backyard / barn area of the property and made lots of finds, although nothing spectacular! My best find of the day was the probably the old brass tap. :laughing7: It's stamped Mueller Standard - Patented 1912.

American Standard History

In 1875, American Standard started out as the Standard Sanitary Manufacturing Company. A merger with some small plumbing companies in 1899 made Standard Sanitary Manufacturing Company one of the largest in America. This gave them the resources to break new ground in the world of plumbing. Things we take for granted today were created by American Sanitary; the tempered faucet (one spout rather than two), our modern 'built-in' tub, and the one-piece toilet. American Standard's work with brass fittings also led to the corrosion free, tarnish free brass finishes that make brass so user friendly in plumbing applications today.

The other unusual piece I found was the 7" long 'pointy thing', it appears to be made out of some type of lead based white metal. I'm thinking it might have been a hood ornament for an old car?
:icon_scratch: I found a couple of Wheats & Canadians from the 40's & 50's, though nothing older. :dontknow: My total 'cash' finds for the hunt $6.52, obviously dropped by all the school kids they bring on site!

I'm thinking the area I'll focus on next Sunday, will be the wooded area directly behind the house with the old stone lined pathway!

Thanks for looking,
Dave

nice finds! thanks for sharing! That pathway should give up some good items!

nice finds congrats HH

What a neat place to hunt, nice finds

It's always nice to have a spot that one can go and hunt when the urge hits them, it feels like visiting an old friend.

Nice assortment of finds once again, would the one item be a letter opener?

It sure is J!
If I could only find something in the 18th or even the 19th c. here, then I'd be really happy!
I now think my best chances of this is going to be in the woods behind the house!
