Now the weather was getting better we went back to the eifel for searching battlefield relics.
In the area German and US troops fought a hard battle in the winter off 1944, now it is guiet and peacefull.
You can walk many hours without seeing anyone in the big woods.
We have seen many foxholes, dugout and tranches but the most off them are empty becouse a lot off people have searched here in the last 66 years
but at the end we have located several relics to take home with us.
Unfortunately we were treated with several hours off rain... :(
Here I show you things we found.......much ammunition this time. :-\

The fist 5 images shows you 2cm flak...its dangerous stuff and we leave them where they were
The next 2 images are showing an 90mm Us granade (AP )
Image 8 is an 75mm (AP) US granade.
Not much later we found a nice German handgranade with a sliver ring arround it.
The last photo you can see a US 105mm artillerie granade, this one we leave in the woods because we also found a 105 mm smoke that we take with us.
At last we found two handgranades (US) and a few other small things...hope you like it.

Amazing finds buddy! :tongue3:
Here are some pics i have shot in the woods... That is like the battlefield looks today. On some pics You can imagine how dark and scary these woods were in the winter 44/45. Yes, now its quite, but it is bloody ground... thousands died here...

Take a minute and think about all these young men who died in the snow. :'(

You can see the foxholes, trenches and wooden bunkers. Sometimes batteries, cables from the field phones and other stuff is laying on the surface, just as it was left from the soldiers.

Looks good but too dangerous for my liking. The forests in my area are full of this stuff. When I was a kid we used to play with all kinds of war relics, weapons and ammunition all the time. Got into trouble with police a couple of times for digging life ordnance in the forest. Be careful.

You are right...most of this stuff is dangerous but we leave it in the woods were we found it.
