I heard it say it was and heard it say unless there's a number it's not? There is an initial (HT) on it.

What about the pin?

The shield is cool, almost looks like the US tag put on Brazilian light minie Rifle’s issued to Ohio troops. Where do you live, north or south jersey???

Your shield looking item might be a belt-tip. Hard to know the size, as using the mouth harp for reference is pretty general, since they varied in size.

The three feathers could refer to the Prince of Wales Regiment. It also was a very popular civilian style back in the day.
