Can't find any info on this button. Backmark reads SCOVILL MF'G CO WATERBURY
Any info greatly appreciated.

Great looking button. I wish I had a button book and I'd be glad to help with the ID, but I'll bet someone here has one and will be along shortly to help with the ID. Did you dig this? It's in great shape. Congrats.

Thanks devldog. Yes, I dug this a few days ago in Warwick, RI. It did clean up very nicely. I don't find many buttons here in Rhode Island but got lucky enough to find this and another Rhode Island button a few months ago when my sister gave me permission to search her property near Coventry, RI. I believe the one from my sister's property is a civil war coat button and this most recent find appears to be a cuff button as it's much smaller. I've also dug a few civilian buttons recently including a tombac, silver plated, flower design and sunburst design.

Nice button!! Another RIer here..

I did some more research and believe I have identified this button. I believe it is a 1880's Rhode island state militia brass button.

Whatever it is that's a super find. A beautiful button. Congrats.
