Rimfire bonanza!

Stopped by an old can dump in a ravine near an old mining town. I looked for bottles but everything I found was broken. Decided to detect up on the road before leaving and found these old .44 rimfire cases all in a 3 foot patch like someone fired all 7 rounds from their Henry. Thats what I imagined when I found them at least.

There were probably some outlaws encroaching on his homestead... or trying to run off with one of his daughters so he gave them the old mag dump 19th century style.

Dual firing pin marks. Could have indeed been a Henry or a later Winchester M-1866. Gary

Well, they have the mark of a Henry on them. Pretty nice shape, too! Great find!
