This is the 3rd ring that I have found at this park. The ring looks like it might have a name on the front but I haven't been able to make it out yet. It rang up in the gold range but I don't see any markings on it. It's not magnetic. I've haven't found a gold ring yet, I would think that gold would look better then this and have markings.

I also dug up this Butterfly Hair Clip that looks nice but I can't image this being real either.

I dug them both up around this big old tree at the park.

Happy Hunting!
Lefty

Nice finds Lefty. Thanks for sharing...

Hmm that tree and background looks familiar. Up near Lincoln, right ? Have not been there in while. Sticking to the Sandy beaches and shallow waters along the coast mostly. Never found too much very oldthere. Some clad and maybe a wheat or two and small gold ring not marked but with small emerald. Never acid tested since I always thought it was plated as it did not seem in that great of shape either . Maybe some of the soil in that place is rough on jewelry . It will be interesting to see if yours turns out to be something worthwhile. I kind of think alot of the turf in that place has been redone over the years.

Haaaaaa, looks like some sweet digging around that tree, I had a spot where the tree roots just would not cooperate, I wanted to get out my hatchet but was scared I get kicked out of the property that I got permission for.

Congrats on the ornate butterfly - WOW! :icon_thumleft: Hope you take your jewelry to a friendly jeweler for testing & weighing rather than give up on them. Both the gold rings I've dug looked crummy until cleaned. The 14k was covered with thin skin of iron due to iron-infested beach. The 18k was covered with stubborn black gunk due to unfriendly soil. HAVE FUN! Andi

MikeinOC1, you know your trees well! That park is close to my house so when I only have like an hour to hunt I hit that park or one of the other parks close by.
