Ring Today Gold?

I was able to get a couple of hours free to MD today and pulled this sweet little ring back from the dirt. It's marked 385 which is I believe is 9K gold.



If anyone has any ideas what the marking means, I would appreciate the help. Thanks.

P.S. It may actually be 585 not 385 it is easy to misread a 5 as a 3 I have heard, 585 = 14k gold

like C&R Man says, it's most likely 585. 9k would look golden, but would also look more of a brass color as well. great find!
