Solid setting, good color, I'd have to get that one checked out.....of course my wife would claim it as hers instantly !!!

the setting would appear from photo to have been plated..as to the stone I am completely unsure.The setting seems very well made.

Looks kind of like what I think they call "mystic topaz". I am no gemologist though. Awesome how it almost glows in the low light!

The ring looks plated although the stone looks like Amethyst.The center stone that is.

looks like 'purple ice'. different colors of 'ice' rings were pretty popular back in the early 90's. they are simply colored and cut glass, some being made from recycled glass. I have no way of saying for sure that is what yours is, I'm just saying that's what it looks like

No expensive stone, would be placed in a cheap setting. But it's still a nice find.:thumbsup:
