Hi everyone!

I come to this site every day and don't post very often as it seems I never find anything other than clad. I've noticed lately some very nice ring finds on this forum. I just bought an ACE 250 and wondered if anyone can tell me what gold should come up on with this machine. Does it depend on the soil, etc.? Will it be a definite, strong sound or broken? Will it jump from pulltab to nickel or foil? I've read that it could show as pulltab, nickel and some have even said foil. I try to dig all the nickel signals I get and keep the pulltabs as a fellow employee saves them for an organization that collects them to buy wheelchairs. At least something good comes out of my digging pulltabs!!!

Also wanted to mention how great everyone sounds here and I thoroughly enjoy the posts!

Thanks everyone Suzyqdogs

Welcome to the forum and to the hobby of MD'ing.
I have an Ace250 and have not found any jewelry as of yet (keep fingers crossed) to have any idea what it sounds like. I am certain as to what it will sound like after I find that first piece of jewelry and I can assure you that it will not be very quiet in that particular area. ;D ;D ;D

Good luck and I am sure someone here knows what it sounds like and fill you in a bit more.

Just keep digging pulltabs & nickel sounds.
Gold will be mixed in. I found this ring after digging two hours of pulltabs in a old swimming beach.
earthworks....

My Dads 250 does that too. It seems to take some time to get to know how it works in th various modes.
just like in the manual I found it informative to do bench tests and/or a test garden.
(buried targets of your own)

We did find one ring but I think it showed as a dime or nickle however, it was not Gold.
Try a bench test and wave some gold and other materials past the coil.

Suzy, gold rings will be found in the area from tin foil through pulltabs for the most part. This will depend on size, thickness, etc. In reviewing our finds over the last several years, that the majoirty of our gold finds come from the foil range. Old adage is true if you want to dig the gold you gotta dig some foil

Thanks for your help everyone! I know everyone has to dig a lot of junk before they find the gold so I shouldn't expect to be any different, right? I'll be sure to let everyone know when and if I find it. Suzy
