Hey guys! Newbie here to metal detecting!

I recently bought an under-water metal detector (Pi-iKing 750) and have been searching the local rivers for neat things. The object in question was just found near an old historic mill in New Braunfels, TX. (In the river at the Faust Street bridge, to be exact.) I've found quite a bit of old mill parts, but what's really got me tied up right now is this ring like object. It's not magnetic, and after trying to clean it up a bit, I think I can see some copper or bronze on it. It's a very odd design, and doesn't have a gem. I can't tell for sure, but it almost looks like there was a "W" branded on the inside of the ring. (See picture.) But honestly, I have no idea what it might be worth, if anything. Anyone have any ideas or recommendations, or is this just another trinket?

Edit: Sorry the links didn't work before! Not sure what the deal was, but I put them up on Google Drive.

Chris,
It's hard to tell by your well focused and good angled pictures what size it might be. (great Pics)
Having something in one of the pictures for size reference is good and helps with the ID.
That said I would say it is a ring if the size is right.
Most likely a plated costume ring lost while swimming.
Not much monetary value if any, but the FIND value is high.
Great find keep up the search and WELCOME to the forum.

looks like a brass ring that was possibly silver plated at one time. I see you're from New Braunfels.... my brother sent me a Christmas gift box of meats he ordered from New Braunfels Smokehouse a couple of years ago. It was pretty tasty. Welcome to the forum. Hope your next ring is GOLD

I'll have to check it out! It's within walking distance of where I like to treasure hunt, and I've passed by it hundreds of times :icon_thumright:
