River hunting?

The Ohio river is finally going down now after months of flooding. I want to go arrowhead hunting, but I found some info on the net about a certain town along the river. Portsmouth is an old town, that had several thousand yankee troops stationed there one year. I have seen Aquachigger do it before, but do you think it is worth hunting the riverbanks outside of a town? Do you think there will be too much garbage, or the targets too deep?

Also, what settings would I have it on? I have a whites MXT.
