river taverns/roadhouses?

don't know if anyone out there is familiar with the illinois side of the wabash river, or ever even heard of the wabash. anyway if you have do you know of any old taverns or road or maybe called riverhouses along there? i know that at one time there was a lot of river traffic on it. any history would be greatly appreciated.

River Rat not sure of the exact location but there used to be an old tavern/ trading post (mid1800's) at darwins ferry. on the illinois side traded mostly furs and dry goods but you never know!!! Good Luck.

thanks for the info. got a few friends up that way that can probably narrow it down. if ya don't mind me askin', you from illinois? if so, what part. i'm in crawford county.
