I guess it's lack of water, even being next to the river stuff is drying up.

Very dry here too. I noticed in one spot at the wetlands there were dry leaves that crackled when I walked.

Here in Maryland we had 2-6" of rain yesterday. Would be glad to put in an order for some for you.

I like the sand piper

And out here we're happy to see that 107 is our highest forecast for the coming week. 25+ days of 110+ days so far this year.

Yeah, but everybody's got a pool in the backyard down there.

Seems the Finns had a name for that when I lived over there - they called it a "sauna"!

I've never truly experienced the dry desert heat. Was raised in Houston area where the extreme humidity normally kept temps under the 100 mark. Some days couldn't walk outside without the heat/humidity taking your breath away, and couldn't walk inside without glasses fogging over. Fortunately I had good vision back then. :laughing7:

Great pics Chris! When do the leaves "normally" start to fall out your way??

I never met a Finn-lander that didn't have a sauna,I know quite a few of them up in Rindge New Hampshire.

Leaves normally start falling late Sept.

Yep, a tad on the early side. Sure wish I could send a few million gallons SOMEWHERE!! Am sick and tired of the basement pump pumping out over 3,000 gallons per day. ...But at least that's down from earlier in the year. Couple months ago we were pumping out about 8,500 gallons per day!

Have seen it so dry here that there were burning bans on and the grasses were turning brown, and even some of the trees were hurting for water. However, you could walk across the yard, look behind you and see your footprints glistening in the moisture!!
