100 miles is a long way! There must be a little more accurate info. Seems like there isnt a lot left of that RR anymore. Good story, anyway.
 

The train did not reach Cripple Creek until 1894, the story says summer of 1893. Still its an interesting article I had not heard of. I wonder if it relates to the 5 chests of gold ore story. Seems very simular. Enough for me to want to go out looking. There are some bigger ranches down that way. Thank you for the article:)
