I found this today while creek hunting for rocks. Very distinct geometric pattern along the edge. My initial instinct was “a chunk of pottery”. The back side looks very much like limestone; so “rock?” Then, if it’s rock, would it be a fossil? Any thought appreciated. I didn’t scale it in the photo; sorry. It’s about 3/4” x 1/2” x 1” down it’s sides. About 1/8” thick.
