if you have a few hours, go to diamond point just outside of Payson. Great quartz that looks just like diamonds.

Is there any old mines near phoenix, copper , I'm trying to find some torqouise for my great grandfather back east

Apache leap mountain is southeast of Superior on rt. 177. Couple hours of driving, depending how fast you go.
