Found a few interesting looking rocks today at the park. The question I have for everyone (Common/uncommon) Was making solid coin hit....Audible and LCD.. Both rocks are small 1 is about an inch long (heavy for it's size) and the other about an inch an a half diamater and fairly light. Sorry will post pictures tommorrow. I have to get a new camera to puter cable...Will post pics for all my finds from January and February. Mostly wheaties with barely readible dates..

Re: Rocks

Your rocks sound like ore or mineralized rock. Black or dk red could be hemite an iron cemented quartz sandstone or magnetite, the latter is magnetic. Galena is lead ore, is heavy and has a metalic luster. Just a couple suggestions while not having seen the pics. Regards.

Re: Rocks

Thanks. Those are actually the first rocks that have set the detector off with such a solid hit.... I've heard of hot rocks but never have found rocks with my detector...lol.... My rock collection I carted around ,since I was a kid, is in my flower garden. Hopefully I'll be posting pics tommorrow...
