Roll Marks

Just wondering if banks ever mark the halves rolls or is that a tell tale sign of a dump roll?

The rolls or the coins?

Some banks may mark the rolls, but I doubt the coins. The only things they MIGHT mark on rolls would be branch, date, or customer.

Bought 4 rolls and the wrappers have green x's. I'm sure it's someone's dump rolls I just haven't looked yet

That's unlikely the bank and very likely another hunter doing that. There's a few others in my area and sometimes I'll get their rolls with various marks on them.

So my first ever CRH experience lands 4 marked rolls of bicentennials. All clad

Don't let it deter you. Some hunters just aren't smart. I remember having a discussion with an old-timer regarding silver in post '64 issues. He was adamant that there was no silver after '64. Couldn't teach the old dog new tricks. His loss. Also, you can look back on my "Silver when you least expect it" post. Person turned in halves and told the teller that they picked out all the silver coins. I picked up 21 solid rolls.

The lesson to be learned is - Buy Them All. Always.

Will do! They did tell me to come back on Monday that there was a teller who had a bunch of rolls in her drawer. Hopefully not the same dump.
