Rolled coins from counter

hello all, this may seem like a tedious question, but i called a couple banks today and they said i couldnt buy the bags off their machine because they roll them up, and use them, but they would be willing to sell me the rolls.....my question is do u think it is worth it to open an account to do so (yes, they said an account was required) or do u think its not worth it? i mean one said the machine tosses the diff denoms in diff bins, then the tellers roll them when they are full, so do u think its not worth it because the tellers might pull out the silver? the other one said they roll it on the spot as it comes thru, so that sounds like a little bit better choice, but im still not sure...your opinions are greatly appreciated and thanks in advance.

One of my banks dumps a bin into a machine that rolls the coins. Never seen the process. But I was once told that "they never search my bin." Would not hurt a time or two to try.

It is worth a try, It will only cost you time. My best score came from a bag of bank rolled coins. My last 6 Brinks boxes have scored zero silver. I would give it a 3 or 4 months and see how you do.

I think one of the things that can make this hobby more enjoyable is LOCATION. I just learned the credit union across the street from my sons school has a coin counter. I will be opening an account there, so I can dump my coins just before I pick my kids up. My current dump bank is about 3/4 of a mile away form my kids school. I could save about 10 minutes of dump time just by adding a closer dump bank.

I think I'd try it.

While I am new to this hobby, it seems, on average, only about 1 in 5 tellers even know what silver is, and fewer of those really know anything about it. I've found that even with those tellers, they are looking for Peace, Morgan, etc., stuff.
