Cleaning out a closet, I found my childhood coin collection, which included $50 or so in rolled pennies, all pre-1976. I also have a ton of poker money change accumulated over the past 35 years.

I've been out of this for so long... When I finally sort through all this, what's worth keeping and what's not?

Are Canadian Centennial cents worth anything? IDK why, but I must have had a thing for them--found a bottle of them.

Is it worth keeping/saving Lincoln Memorial cents, or just the pre-1982 dates?

What about all the commemorative pennies, nickels, & quarters? (Man, I knew about the quarters, but somehow I missed the nickels & pennies! 😲)

Today, I save only pre '46 nickels, pre '65 dimes, pre '34 pennies and pre '65 quarters (with the exception of '82 and '82 P and Ds). Everything else goes as part of my tip at Denny's.

I typically save all wheaties and 1970s S-mint cents, all pre-1960 nickels, pre-1965 dimes and quarters, pre-1971 halves, and all large sized dollar coins. I also save any proofs or foreign coins that I find. As for centennial Canadian cents, they as well as all pre-1978 Canadian cents are worth $0.0284846 as of the current spot price quoted from coinflation.com. Here is a link to melt values of all Canadian coins:https://www.coinflation.com/canada/
