What a start to the year, this billion silver Roman Coin brings the total to 10 already!
Friday was a solo hunt of 5 hours to finish off the far end of the field. This end has produced no recordable finds it the first year we covered it, so has not been covered since. But in our mind & for completeness it needed doing again. It was as quiet as I expected & I only got the strange Dog, Brooch & 1 scrappy, just enough to make me feel it was worth it.
I also spent a small amount of time going over an area we had done but from a right angle. This produced a debased Roman silver, it was deep so if Cru'dad had done this spot, it was an easy miss. The recent rain may have helped a bit as well.
3 Scrappies
Tudor Pyramidal Button (Scarce find)
1771 Halfpenny
Roman Disc Brooch
Tudor Leather Decor
Billion Ant. of Postumus, actually one of my better ones of him.
A star find that I'm unable to ID, its a Bronze Roman Running Dog. Looks as if the design never had front legs.
I thought maybe a folding knife, but can find anything in my books or on the net, must be pretty rare, I thinks...
