What a start to the year, this billion silver Roman Coin brings the total to 10 already!:wav:

Friday was a solo hunt of 5 hours to finish off the far end of the field. This end has produced no recordable finds it the first year we covered it, so has not been covered since. But in our mind & for completeness it needed doing again. It was as quiet as I expected & I only got the strange Dog, Brooch & 1 scrappy, just enough to make me feel it was worth it.
I also spent a small amount of time going over an area we had done but from a right angle. This produced a debased Roman silver, it was deep so if Cru'dad had done this spot, it was an easy miss. The recent rain may have helped a bit as well.

3 Scrappies
Tudor Pyramidal Button (Scarce find)
1771 Halfpenny
Roman Disc Brooch
Tudor Leather Decor
Billion Ant. of Postumus, actually one of my better ones of him.
A star find that I'm unable to ID, its a Bronze Roman Running Dog. Looks as if the design never had front legs.:icon_scratch: I thought maybe a folding knife, but can find anything in my books or on the net, must be pretty rare, I thinks...:headbang:

The streak should be over for awhile. Our next fields, have no intel, high risk, low priority stabs in the dark....but....you...never know....

Congrats you sure do find some great things over there

We blessed to live in a history rich area, not the best by a long way, but its nicer that its all local.

Excellent hunt Cru. It's funny that a 1771 half penny falls into the mid-to-early spectrum over here, but by you it's quite new.

In the modern bracket for me but we need 100 blanks to get this one date, so it just makes the collection.

Cru, can you change the title? Or do you just love red meat? Being such a new member to this site, your streak has been running for quite a few years! Location, location, location, is what we say on this side of the pond!

That running dog is strange, definitely a handle for something...star find for sure.8-)

SS

Strange for sure! Is the nose broken off? Maybe half of something? Whatever it is, i like it!

Yes, slight break to end of nose. SS gave me a thought maybe it is a box handle like the kissing dolphin types, would explain the lack of legs??

Well, it has to end some time...
