Hey everyone--
Below are some Roman coins that I got as a birthday present. They came with no information, and I apologize for some of the pictures, but I had my sister take them while I was away. Any help would be welcome in identifying the coins. There are five coins.

I haven't got time at the moment but if you ask Gunner, he will ID.

The first one is unusual, it reminds me of the 6th-7th century gold Merovingian Tremissis. I assume its of a similar date because it very un-Roman looking.

The first one is an AE4 of Arcadius.

Obverse: DN ARCADIVS PF AVG

Reverse: SALVS REI-PVBLICAE

It was probably struck in Nicomedia circa 388-392 A.D. (but could be from a different mint..I am going by styly). A little earlier than dugfinds suggests but the styling is very similar to the "barbaric types" issued after the fall of Rome.

Victory advancing left holding a trophy and draggin a captive by the hair.

Gunner

Never found a Arcadius. Its at the end of the Roman Rule in Britain. A nice unusual Emperor.

Thanks Down.

I took a look through the site. I think the small one I have with the two soldiers and the standard is this:

Bronze AE 3

Obverse: CONSTANTI-NVS MAX AVG

Reverse: GLOR-IA EXERC-ITVS

Minted in Siscia.

Two soldiers with their gear on the ground on either side of a labarum.
