As the going is good, its time for a holiday. Dad & I spent 5 hours 45 minutes in the sun.8-)

We have nearly finished this site, but as you can tell from the pottery, we when through one of the better areas. Sadly we had sucked off all the good stuff on previous years.

Westfront - picked up 3 bits of under floor tile.:hello: (see picture)

18 scrappies
Hunts Button
Jetton
Pewter Tudor Clothes Fastener
13th C Annular Buckle
Roman Ring
Roman Pinhead
Roman Hobnail
Roman Acorn Terminal (maybe broken pinhead)

Very unusual Roman Harness Mount - can't find any with the loop attachment on the net. (sadly I broken the loop whilst cleaning):sadsmiley: PS. I just checked & found this type in my Roman Military Fittings book.

Another great day Cru. Your coin to button ratio is always outstanding!

Another great coin and button day Cru. And I like your pottery shards as well. The orange looking pieces in the 3rd pic resemble some of the Native American shards I find around here. Not so much the color, but the cord impressed designs are quite similar.

That's parts of the box tile used to create the flue/underfloor heating.

Thanks for sharing...

Good day Cru! Not bad for a previously gridded area! Thanks for the pic, never seen here with that design. Must been a effective business there when they had decorated Terra Sigillata!

Gridded at least twice but we had a deep plough at the end of last year. Still not planted yet, so the conditions are less than perfect (pretty knobberly). Still we finished the site today on a high.

Will post later after Dad has taken all the details of the Roman Coins.

Looking forward to your post! :hello2:
