Yesterday we spent 5 hours & finished off covering the site for the 2nd time.
Once again we did much better than expected:

18 Roman Bronze Coins
Medieval Thimble
1888 Sixpence (Dad got the other day)
Broken roman Bracelet & Fibula
Nice pair of Roman Tweezers (Decorated)

2 Roman Silver (Plated & Billion):

The silver plated is a Caracalla [ANT]ONINVS [PI]VSAVG — VICT [PART] MAX Victory left (hardly discernible though).

The AR Anton is surprisingly Gallienus [IMPGALL]IENVS PF AVG GERM — VICT[ORIA] GERM Victory facing tied up captive(German)

Today we spent 1 hour in someone's front & back yard looking for his lost wedding ring. No joy finding it, but we gave him some lose change & a different silver ring.
Then we spent 30 minutes on a nearby field - 3 scrappies
Then 1 hour 45 minutes on the failed bean site;

2 Hammered (in previous post) 2 Lizzy, 1 is a 1574 Threepence.

The Tavern Site has really produced the goods this year. To think we had nearly cleared it was an understatement. It was a dream start to the year. The ratio of bronze to silver is now at 18/1, most sites are 70/1 !!!

Not sure we can keep it up for much longer, but we will keep on hunting.
