Although I've called this day 3 & 4 the previous 2 hunts were both close to an hour. It also doesn't include the days we did before the spring crops were drilled. This year we managed just over 200 bronze coins & 4 silver from this 1 field. We have had to finish for this year as the Winter Beans are starting to show. At first we thought they might be volunteers, as they put Winter beans over Spring beans. (thats a first) Anyways we have covered the best area & we can do the rest next year.
Day 3 (Saturday)
We did 6 hours & got 57 bronze, no silver. (so that was our 1 day without)
Day 4 (Today)
We did 5 hours & got 34 bronze, 2 Roman Silver, & 1 hammered.
Both days:
91 Roman Bronze - Some pretty good ones mixed in.
1 broken Tudor Button
2 Roman Childs Bracelet bits
2 Hob-Nails
2 Roman Mounts
Bit of a Roman Childs Ring Bezel
Roman Silver Ant. of Postumus
Roman Silver Ant. of Valerian I
Hammered Halfpenny of Ed III
Although the Roman Silvers were pretty ugly compared to many we have had this year, they are very welcome.
Because the big numbers are probably over for the rest of the year....
