Man, started the morning trying to obtain permission, bad timing(Sunday) 7 knocks, 1 no, 5 no answers and finally 1 yes. the yes turned into a big nothing burger, 3 clad pennies. So I went back to a permission I hit last weekend that gave up a few wheats and a couple of silvers and a semi-rare token. I redid most of the yard and was ready to call it a day, but, went back to a spot where I found a couple of silver dimes. I decided to hit it another angle and got a real iffy signal that gave a nice high tone every other sweep, the numbers on the CTX were bouncing, but, target trace was showing a somewhat of a hit around the 12 line. Dug down about 5 inches expecting to pull out a wheat when out pops a barber :headbang: I re-scanned the hole in all metal, 2-3 inches from the hole I was getting an iron grunt, no doubt the culprit throwing off the numbers. After that I decided to call it a day. It cleaned up really nice for around here.

Nice find I don't care what the value to a coin shop is, when I find a coin like that that has been lost in time and has a story behind it. is great..... Great day nice save..., Thanks for sharing it!!!!

A quarter even.. :) Love them barbers

beautiful coin, great work at recovering it too. congrats on the awesome find

One of the very first coins I found with my Garrett Groundhog in 1988 in a private yard was a Barber quarter. I didn't even know what it was when I found it :tongue3: back then it was one tone, no meter, dig everything. I started my detecting hobby hunting yards, man, 9 outta 10 times I asked I was given permisssion, things have changed a bit since then. It didn't take me long to figure out where to spend my time :laughing7:

Congratualtions on the nice silver Barber! :occasion14:
