So far the best answer is that the Orange part relates to the "Orange line (railroad)" or "Orange Street" (this is what they called Washington Street in Colonial times).

Not sure. Is that a town? County? Would that date the piece to the early 1900's or later?

East Orange is a small city in New Jersey, it is very close to NYC. I don't know anything about your pin though, but I just thought maybe it was possible they may have had a branch of the fan club there. I read a wiki that said the Royal Rooters were disbanded in 1918.
