Russian double eagle brooch? with opal and ?

Hi all,

This is my first time posting here, and am not sure if this is the right venue for this item. But if it isn't, could you steer me to a place that I could find out more about it?

I found this today at a local Goodwill. I recognize it to have the Russian double eagle and it seems that the opals are real. If anyone could tell me more about the age, maker, or materials, I would really appreciate it.

Welcome to TNet & thanks for showing us your brooch. I think you might get an argument from any number of entities on the origin of that Double-headed Eagle, not the least of which is the Duchy of Grand Fenwick.

Unfortunately, you'll have to count me amongst the dubious on those "opals." I do believe it to be mid-century costume jewelry.
