I just love these tiny cuties, this is the second Russian wire coin for me, absolutely best find for today! :) I have not been able to find out the exact year of this coin, if someone could help me it would be highly appreciated.

This is the so-called silver scale of the reign of Pyotr Romanov 1700 russia

Beautiful little coin and nice job recovering that target! :icon_thumleft:

Very Nice!!! Congrats!!!

Excellent save on that one. Quite interesting on how these were stamped and cut. That will look nice in your coin collection. Thanks for sharing and GL to ya.

Beautiful coin! The detail is so sharp.

Sweet find, congrats! :occasion14:

Sweet find. No wonder those little things would get lost. I can just imagine a leather bag full of them with a tiny hole in one corner.

Was that like finding a tick on a dog? Tiny things

It was even harder, it was so muddy field, I had just little bit dirt left between my fingers and still getting signal from that. I was going to give up. Luckily I didn't!

Thats amazing I never even heard of a coin like that before.

Now the more I think about it Im gonna need one of those and another bucket lol

Way to go! All I can tell you is that's a hell of a lot older than anything I've ever found. Good work!

I can imagine that it was hard to find even after you got it out of the hole!!!! What a cool piece of history!!!!

Great coin! These are called “чешуя” “cheshuya”. Fish scale in Russian. They come in copper, silver and very rarely gold.
