You nailed Kasone , Sharp corroded metal is what I see as well.

Whatever it is, it looks like there may be some detail on it, but it would have to be cooked in the tank for a while to really see what it is.

When you want help identifying something you need to give us all the info you can including pictures of all sides and either actual dimensions or something for size reference. Picture doesnt tell us if it is 1 inch or 10 inches

looks a bit like a old metal wood bit --like you would heat up to bore holes in wood in small dory type boat building --where they used wooden dowels pounded in the holes as a means of ship building
