Hi Everyone,
Saturday turned out to be a dismal day kida got me down as I only found 11 memorial cents all day
Sunday Though started out the same but at a site I had luck with exactly one month ago with my CZ5. First 2 hours I dug a lot of deep Iron and junk and maybe .46 in clad. But then out pops the 1945P war nickel, then it got fun next I worked an area that I haven't worked there before due to all the nails and iron from the torn down house. Nest thing to come out was a mercury dime 1918D. As I procededto work around the other side of the foundation out comes 3 wheats with in minutes of each other 1929.1940 and 1944. Then came the price to me of the day a standing liberty with the date 1928. I used the explorer the whole time and had my cz5 as back up but refused touse it until I figure this monster out.
Here are my setting I ran in;
Iron mask -10
advance responce deep and fast ( am I wrong for running both?)
sens 22 manual
contrast max due to bright shiney day
threshold just over barely audible
I dug alot of junk trying to find the nickel spot on the machine as I like nickels. I also worked on my pinpointing and used a homemade probe, that I made from a .99 walmart steak turner I need work with it but it did help me from dinging up the coins and iron.
Oh yeah this yard I am working has now produced 7 silver coins and over a dozen wheats so far, it only dates back to the mid 1920's.
I had fun and felt like I was getting somewhere today with the explorer.
