As we are out of options we decided to return to the field we had completed. We have had lots of rain recently & the wheat stubble is now completed degraded, making it easier to distroy with the swing & get lower. We gridded in the opposite direction for 3.5 hours & did well enough;

5 Scrappies (not pictured)
5 17th C Token (although in bad condition, 5 in a session is unusual)
2 Bits of Roman Fibula
A mystery Roman Pin head type object
W&M Tin Halfpenny

On the way back to the car I got a SILVER 18th C Clog Clasp, pretty rare find. But that was the highlight of the day.

Great finds! Thanks for sharing...

Nice finds (as always...).
A question: how old do you guess those 4-hole buttons of yours might be?

Nice find Cru... hey what is the object in the middle of the bottom right picture?

Cru, do you have more info on the clasp? I would think clogs are more poor mans footwear? At least here, so silver clog clasps must be a rare find?

I have no idea what these 'types' of shoe looked like & I know very little about them. But we have only had no more than 5 with all our searching, so I would say rare.

Your post gave me hope that maybe I too could return to a site that I have "finished" and find something else. Those are quite a collection in themselves to give testament to your strategies. Thanks for great pics of things most of us have never seen!:notworthy:

Big Congrats

As usual, very interesting finds Cru! :occasion14:
Love the look of the silver 18th C Clog Clasp and this decorated flat button!

Hope you and your Dad are both well,
Dave
