scarier than sharks amebas and sting rays

Wow! My etrac will crackle when lightening strikes even when it is miles away!

OK! Where in the hell were you standing and how far did you jump?

Very cool. What camera were you using?

Time to clean out the shorts!!

Years ago in Maine. I was checking my mail at a community mail box... had lightning strike the pavement 10 feet behind my car... it scared the carp out of me... the flash and sound were instant...

Made my hair stand on end.. thank God, I hadn't rolled down my window yet.....

My CZ21 does the same thing...makes me think I hit a target when Im in autotune.

hey, not my footage, I just like weather events and was lookin at cool lightning. but this one stopped me in my tracks cuz its so close to shore, and ive hunted many times in conditions like this. not no more.

I was at a beach a few weeks ago and weather turned BAD FAST. lightening strikes about a mi away and thunder. Wind kicked up about 30 mph and it started hailing.. This was in San Diego... WTH? .. I thought, cool, the beaches are PACKED right now. Everyone will run off and make drops... I couldn't handle it... And when lightening hit a palm tree a few hundred yards away, it was time to bounce!

I wonder how many fish floated up electrocuted?

Wow, I like my fish medium rare.

My Xcal gives a distinctive chirp when lightning is at a distance. When it goes crackle it is time to move, fast. Slowly detecting your way off the beach, although tempting, is not good enough. On a recent stay at Siesta Key there was lightning every night like clockwork. I would look around to see where it was coming from and which way it was moving. One night I could not figure out the direction until I looked straight up. At the same time I got the loudest crackle ever in the detector. No fun when You are the shortest path to ground.

Awesome video! FYI: I think you meant Amoeba

I a total nut - Ive been out in lightning storms - hunted with a water spout near by - in a blizzard - in a hurricane
if I go -Im going doing what I love doing

Speaking of which...
I have notice the lack of finds posts lately Casper...

What gives ?
Not going out these days ?
Or... nothing to report ?
Or... I am just missing em.

Hmmm, I think I will pass on getting zapped and get out of the weather so I can play at my passion another day

Yeah, I would much rather sacrifice a few hours than end my career early...I respect lighting and value my life.

I would be worrying about it damaging my detector....
