I hunt a local school actually the school I went went I was kid. I found ww1 eagle buttons, .50 cal bullet and this a fired mine ball ?? Or is a .50 cal

I can only suggest if you have access to a scale weigh it (in grains) the weight in grains would give an idea of the caliber.. best idea is to use a micrometer and get a measurement around the driving bands...from the pix that is most likely the least deformed part...the OD (outside diameter) is your best bet to narrow the possibilities... IMHO
